Today, we are excited to share news that reflects that commitment: our partnership with the NGO Stop Blindness.
What is Stop Ceguera?
The NGO STOP CEGUERA, https://www.stopceguera.org/, an ophthalmological aid group, throughout its 25 years of existence, has dedicated itself to eradicating preventable and treatable blindness in developing countries such as Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria, Senegal, Dominican Republic, etc. And it has managed to restore the sight of more than 4,500 people.
Its aim is to contribute to the fight against blindness, a scourge that only leads to misery, increases poverty and contributes to a life expectancy of only 4 years from the time a person becomes blind in a developing country.
Currently, campaigns are being carried out in Ethiopia where, together with Fundación Baviera Responsable and Fundación Pablo Horstmann, a permanent ophthalmology clinic has been built in the village of Meki, which will be staffed by local personnel and STOP BLINDNESS volunteers and will be visited and trained by our surgical teams 4 times a year.
In Guinea Conakry we have a mobile surgical unit, where we have carried out a campaign and we intend to continue our work if the security conditions in the country allow us to do so. We have a long list of patients to continue operating, most of the operations are cataract operations.

We have earmarked financial and logistical resources to support their medical missions and awareness-raising projects. But that’s not all: our own employees will also have the opportunity to join in as volunteers on humanitarian missions.
